3 months post op and I hit a stall

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I don't know if anyone can relate, I had the surgery on 3 Aug. and lost almost 47lbs.

but now I hit a stall.. my weight won't budge! the problem is that I feel demotivated to exercise or walk. I was walking more than 10,000 steps/day, and making so much progress.

my Water intake reduced as well, and I'm craving sweets and Desserts more than ever.

I really need encouragement! any advise?

i just hit 4 months and i hit a stall. But i knew it would happen eventually. Just stick to your program!! I know its hard but you got this. Im continuing everything the same and i know it will break. going on 9 days at the same weight, Sucks but im not going to regress. Keep it going!!

Head games are going on- We all have been there the stalls are common, switch it up a little - Try more Water less food - then different foods, The stall will pass, if you search here you will see 100s of post on stalls, I broke mine doing a 10 day fast of water and supplements only, It broke in 5 days.

Do not panic it will break - As for not motivated Why not? You have already lost 47 pounds - Get your ass in gear pound out the rest of them! Then reward yourself - For example i have a reward set once i hit my goal weight to just party my ass off in cuba for 3 days. Of course no food but as a guy just going to kick back and seize the day

I hit a stall early (3 weeks and now I am 6 weeks) For now the weight is starting to come off, but slowly. I am going to add more Water to see if that can help! Your weight will begin to come off again!

Stop looking at the scale. Live your new life, keep walking your steps, hitting your Water and Protein goals. The weight will come off. It is NOT a linear loss. I have WEEKS where I lose nothing, and then all of a sudden I'll lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks.

Yep, I can relate to this as well! I've been plateaued for about 2 months, with a 5 lb dip in the middle (so I guess two separate, consecutive plateaus?) But - I've lost 2 more inches total across my body in the last month, despite very little change to my weight. So bear in mind that you may be gaining muscle (as much as that sounds like just one of those things people say during a plateau to make you feel better!)

Most importantly... don't let the plateau derail you! If you stop walking, and start giving in to your cravings frequently, then you know for sure what is going to happen - the plateau will break, but in the opposite direction. Keep up with your Water intake, keep up with your steps, and maybe add in something new and fun. Focus on non-scale victories. You've totally got this! (We both do!) Hang in there!

I am 2.5 months out and have had many stalls, now I average one after every 5 pounds, which lasts for about 5 days. What I find helpful is posting my weight on My FitnessPal and it gives me a 30-day weight loss, and I can assure myself during the stall that I'm still in my 8-pound weight loss goal. Today I dropped almost 2 pounds after a stall that lasted 4 days. I just attribute this to the body shifting and adjusting, then when it is ready I will start losing again.

I'm 5 weeks post op tomorrow and I have been at a stall for a week and half. I lost 21lbs pretty quick then it just stopped. Honestly I think my body might just be adjusting to the 300-500 calories I take in a day. I'm trying to get more Water in and hopefully try to up my calories a bit especially since I switch from pureed to soft foods next week.

Hang in there. I have read about the stalls and it happens. We just have to keep trusting the program and wait for our bodies to do their thing. I'm willing to bet you notice a difference in your clothes even if the scale isn't moving.

Keep up the great work!!!

I'm approaching 2 months, I seemed to start out well but this bouncing between 282-287 is driving me crazy- no cheating on the food, my surgeon visit he told me to up my calories to 800 breakfast/lunch/dinner with two Snacks in between- sounding right? He said don't worry stick to the program you are doing good- he seemed confident. I get that I may be gaining muscle and losing fat- I'm down two shirt sizes and 4 inches of waistline in my pants so I am guessing it's ok- If I dropped 100 right now I'd be at the "perfect" weight for me so I guess coming off slower is better? thoughts about the diet portion? I picked up a Soloflex elliptical since the weather will stink in houston the next few months so no excuses once I put it together, I can elliptical and watch tv at the same time :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
