IM IN A STALL, but im ok...

Recommended Posts

Alright guys, im currently in the middle of a stall. but im not panicking at all. its been a week and my weight has stayed the exact same every single morning. (im a daily weigher) My diet hasnt changed at all, and neither has my exercise, so i know this is just part of the process. This forum prepared me for this though, so i will keep track on here how my stall is going. its only been a week, could be a few more. Who knows. Hopefully it break soon! But ill keep at it regardless.

as you've read before, just stick to your plan. Stalls happen - and as long as you stick to your surgeon's plan, they eventually break. I've had them last anywhere from a week to a month.

Jake, would it maybe less stressful to weigh only once a week, especially when you are plateaued?

I only weigh on Mondays as well. I was weighing everyday and was getting so frustrated because the scale wasn't moving. I am in my first stall, have been for 3 weeks.

I had frequent stalls and lost the weight slower than average. To keep my head in the game and maintain my sanity I only weighed myself when I felt lighter.

I think that really helped me get to my goal weight.

I've mostly been plateaued for the last two months, with the exception of about a 5 lb drop in the middle. It's really frustrating!! I feel your pain. But I took a new set of measurements yesterday, and I lost another 2 inches across various parts of my body over the last month, despite only weighing about 3 lbs less than my corresponding weigh in. So I'm going to believe that I'm losing less because I'm gaining more muscle as I lose the fat 🙂 The plateaus will pass - for both of us! Keep up the good work!

I keep stalling too but I think its Water related for me, but it seems like you're doing good. You've lost a ton of weight! Congrats! How many days a week do you exercise?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
