What are you guys using to lighten up your scars?

I’m Almost 3 months post op and my incision scars are still very dark. Also I’m almost a year post op from getting my gallbladder removed and those scars are still also dark.

I didn't have noticeable scarring from my RNY, but I had A LOT of it after plastic surgery. I've read it can take up to two years for the scars to lighten and flatten as much as they're going to. The scars from my lower body lift (Aug 2018) are looking pretty good at this point, but it's been over a year. The ones from the rest (March 2019) are still pretty red. I'm sure they'll lighten, though. Yours probably will as well if it's only been three months.

I'm using time. Two of my incisions are almost invisible, but the rest are quiet pink. I do know of people including myself that have used Mederma with fair results.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
