looly 361 Posted November 4, 2019 This is, admittedly, very silly, but....has anyone else noticed this...? I've lost a shed-load of weight and I have an apron of skin up front. It's truly flop-tastic. 😲 However, when I'm in the bath, it magically begins to float up into a rather endearing little pot-belly. 😊 I know that fat is less dense than muscle and so it will float, but to see it in action is a bit of a giggle! 1 2 1 MIZ60, Lynda486, NancyLF and 1 other reacted to this
S@ssen@ch 745 Posted November 4, 2019 LOL. I have ALWAYS said this. It's kind of a running joke in our family whenever we're on vacations and taking part in water-based activities (ie: snorkeling). We're safe "fat floats"! All joking aside, I totally get what you mean. This summer I was in the swimming pool, jumping around, swimming, etc. Man did I feel floppy. 1 1 Slownstedy and looly reacted to this

catwoman7 11,221 Posted November 5, 2019 yes - it does. Being in the Water is one of the only things that's actually easier when you're overweight. I sink like a rock now! 1 looly reacted to this
looly 361 Posted November 5, 2019 I'll have to keep some fat - swimming's my favourite exercise! 😲😀

Agree! I lost all my buoyancy. Swimming is a lot harder than it used to be! But fitting into a bath tub (and getting out) is sure a whole lot easier! 1 nenes78 reacted to this

Yes, when I'm at my heaviest, and I go swimming I float. My husband often says if the boat goes down grab me as a "flotation devise". The scary part was once I started to lose weight all of a sudden I had to swim, and I sank. Yep fat floats.
looly 361 Posted November 8, 2019 I've also found that I put more Water in the bath now because I displace less of it - as Archimedes would say - "Eureka!". It's also nice to get in the bath without setting off a tsunami that splashes onto the floor! 😉 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
Slownstedy 210 Posted November 8, 2019 Once you've had WLS it is sink or swim. 🤣 1 looly reacted to this
VSGDavid 185 Posted November 8, 2019 Lol. I've lost a ton and noticed the same thing this summer. I'm like a deflated baloon, and I still have 100 more pounds to shed.
