Filling So Full

Recommended Posts

I hit my 3 months on October 25th and the last 2-3 days I've been feeling super full, like I've eating a full plate of food. Yesterday, I literally made myself eat something. I can go all day and not eat anything. This wasn't happening before, I had myself on a really good eating schedule. Now it's a struggle, is this just one of those phases? Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I had that happen about that time. I would eat or drink one bite or a mouthful of liquid and feel like I had eaten a pizza, and vomit! I had a very severe stricture. Not to scare you, but that was my experience. Can you keep food and liquids down? Are you in pain? If you're not in pain, don't have trouble swallowing, and can keep food and liquids down you probably do not have a stricture. Whatever it is, I hope the full feeling gets better for you!!

Same as you - F#$ck food, Eat when you can and as little as you can, Just make sure your supplements and Vitamins are in line - that was straight from a Nutritionist. I would rather not eat then be miserable

That happened to me occasionally. Sometimes it was if I ate too much and irritated the pouch the day before so I backed off and just had liquids and soft foods like yogurt for 24 hours. It would also happen if I was busy at work and ate a lot less. It felt as if I was back to the first week after surgery and unable to get alot of food in. Either way after 24 hours I would go back to my normal.

Thanks. Well thank God I'm not in pain and I can keep my food and Vitamins down. So I guess I'll just flow with it. I just didn't understand why this happened when I haven't changed anything with my eating schedule.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
