Seeking Boston surgeon for revision

Recommended Posts

I am looking for Boston people that love their surgeon. Specifically to do either a DS or a SIPS procedure. It’s ok if you don’t know if they do or not I will call around :) thanks!!

Dr. Sheila Partidge did my sleeve at Newton Wellesley. Their program has a great reputation, she's the top surgeon there, and I have been so happy with the results. She's also just very nice. I have a law degree so they tend to give me the best doctors. ;)

PM me if you want more info.

I got my surgery done last week by Dr. Julie Kim! She’s actually the first dr to perform bariatric surgery in Massachusetts, if I’m remembering correctly! highly recommend!

I went through Mount Auburn Weight Management Center at Mount Auburn Hospital!

Good luck,

Megan

For a "classic" BPD/DS, I'm not aware of any surgeons in the Boston area that do them - the closest would be in the NY/NJ/PA area where there are several good ones to choose from (Roslin, Greenbaum, Pomp, Herron, Bonnani that I can think of). The SIPS is a newer and simpler procedure so more surgeons are capable of doing it, but experience and technique with it is a big variable with those who have started to offer it, so you need to take a good look at how their post-ops are doing. Unfortunately, being a fairly new procedure, there aren't the number of people around who have had it for a few years as there are with the BPD/DS which has been around for some thirty years or so.

Good luck in your revision!

That's great!. The DS world is on the small side, so it's always good to see others joining in. Do you know if they are actually doing the BPD/DS (have you run into any patients in support groups, etc., who have had it?) or just the SIPS? It isn't clear from their website if they are actively performing them, or if that was just a description used to introduce the SIPS, with they go into a lot more detail explaining, and seems to be more of what they are promoting.

Sorry, I don't know, in part, because I don't go to the support group there. I much prefer to get my support here. I'm sure they would tell anyone who called how many they had done, etc.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
