I am on the fence about which one of these i should do.

i hear the tuck is a better solution, but the panni is covered by insurance. I had once consult already about the tuck, and another on mon for the panni.. any experienced post surgery folks out there have any ideas.., maybe had one and wish they had the other?

Maybe see if insurance will cover the panni, and you just pay the difference for the extra costs involved with the tuck?

I would go with the tuck. The panni is just administrative there is no artistry and if you ever watch skin tight of 600 lb life they only show them after with clothes..that's because their only job is to remove the skin, not to make it look good. ....why get it and then get another surgery and put your bod through it. because there would probably be a deductible or co-pay. You have worked so hard and you want to feel good about your body. would suggest just the tuck. I've been following Dr. Omar Lazos on Facebook. He specializes in those of us who have lost a lot of weight from weight loss surgery. Talk about Artist. Google him @Jazzy1125 I follow him and I just had my weight loss surgery so i have over 100 lbs to go but I plan to go to him after. He fixes everything. The thighs, the fupa, (fat upper pubic area) the everything!!!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
