Panda333 276 Posted October 24, 2019 That's great it's affordable. I actually thought healthcare is free though in your country. Maybe that's only Canada and the UK..........
New&Improved 1,780 Posted October 24, 2019 ONLY general medical issues not elective surgery. WLS is still considered elective unfortunately and our public health system requires a ton of tests and waiting up to 3+ years for any kind of WLS and only for the most extreme cases. I've had to get insurance and pay some out of pocket for my surgery but only a few tests to go through. Whereas Europe/UK they have figured it's best to give people surgery and save millions on obesity related illnesses... 1 Frustr8 reacted to this

WLS is necessary and being overweight is considered a disease.... it shoudl be easier to get in all countries.
New&Improved 1,780 Posted November 21, 2019 I completely agree.. Unfortunately obesity as a disease is not taken seriously in some places..

If we made it easily accessible and free or cheap to everyone then lots of people who shouldn't get it would. I say shouldn't meaning those who aren't big enough or haven't done the head work or expect the surgery to do everything for them.
