Only the weekend to go now. I'm so excited for you all. Remember to breathe and be excited to explore the differences you've already experienced along your journey to this point. You've already become a newer, slimmer self, so you're already successful! You are going to rock your surgery! I'll look for you on the post-op threads next week. Keep us posted as to how you are going and feeling next week.

Hugs & blessings.

Yes, only the weekend. I'm very nervous and excited. I got all of my instructions from the Surgeon's office and hospital today. They have me drinking 20 oz Gatorade (I'm going to assume sugar free cause, duh) the night before between 8 and 9 p.m. and they want me to drink another in the morning, before 11 a.m. (surgery is scheduled for 2:45 p.m.). I never heard of drinking more than a sip of Water with your pills before surgery. They said helps patients not become dehydrated. I will follow their orders, but it makes me a little nervous about the day of.

I'm sure this weekend will fly by. Tomorrow is my relaxing day. I'm getting my hair done, going to the salt cave (it helps with anxiety, allergies, asthma, etc.) and maybe a pedicure, no nail polish, just to have smooth feet and it feels good. I even though about a facial, but I also want to not drag my husband to all these places, though he'd gladly come with me. He's the best. he got me a new Fitbit. So supportive.

That makes me feel really happy that your husband is so supportive of your journey. Mine hasn't even wanted the subject to be brought up. We're going to have a conversation about how much that hurts my feelings this weekend, and then we'll see how it goes.

Try to post a thumbs up or something Monday evening to let us know you're doing well. I'll be saying prayers for you and your surgeon that everything is smooth and uneventful.

Thank you, I appreciate that so much. I agree with talking to your spouse. I have been open with mine. I have cried, told him all of my "Whys," and he even came to one of the support groups with me, because I wanted him to hear the stories of those who have already have it, as well as the people like me who have not yet had it. He still says, "You can back out," and I know that's only out of fear. just like when we're like, "What am I doing?" I have had one safe surgery, I'm praying for another. My son and my husband need me and I desperately want to be with them as long as I can (hence, why I want my health back). I don't have a house, I rent; I don't have a ton of money, but we're ok (there could be more in the bank though....), but I'm rich in those two guys that love me so much. I'm thankful for my other family that supports me, my work friends, who are super supportive and for everyone on here.

I'll let you all know how I am when I'm on the loser's bench :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
