evilpixie20 9 Posted October 19, 2019 I am on full liquids and 10 days post OP. I am having no issue eating/ drinking my Soup. I just ate 7oz of cream potato soup (minus potato) no problem in like 5 to 10 minutes. I feel like I could keep going and not feel restricted. Same with Water. I can do more than just tiny sips. Also I feel hungry all the time. Help me please. I had rny on 10/9/19SW 289 and down to 261. Sent from my SM-G973U using BariatricPal mobile app
NYJenn 1,463 Posted October 19, 2019 Fluids aren’t really going to give you that “full” feeling. Once you start food, you’ll feel it
Darktowerdream 421 Posted October 20, 2019 Are you getting enough Protein? Most Soups are very low in protein and high carb. The more carbs or hidden sugars, the hungrier you will feel. Getting 50-60 grams of protein a day will keep you full longer. Also the type of protein helps. A blend of whey and casein protein, the casein keeps you full. I use PEScience select Protein Powder. It works well mixed with yogurt too. if you like soups there is Unjury protein broth. BariatricPal Store has a good variety of soups too. There is a sale until the 21st on their brand of products. They even have a broth with Vitamins.
evilpixie20 9 Posted October 20, 2019 I'm adding fair life milk and Bone Broth for Protein. Plus protein Water and shakes.
Dances with Carbs 168 Posted October 20, 2019 They gave me those one ounce cups after surgery and told me to drink 3 ounces of Water and 2 ounces of Protein Shakes in one hour. That lasted about 1 day for me. I told the husband just give me a normal 8 ounce Protein Drink and a normal cup of water. I drink normal. I cant chug water like i used to but I don't sip it either. I put away 32 ounces of water in about 30 minutes. I also felt hungry while on the liquid diet. My mom reminded me that it is head hunger not stomach hunger. So every time I thought I felt hungry, I would tell myself I was thirsty instead. You'll feel more human again once you start solids. Dances with Carbs 168 Posted October 20, 2019 That was the hardest part for me in the liquid diet. Just didnt feel normal. Felt like I was starving, my pee was weird, my insides felt weird. I even convinced myself I smelled different. It can play some serious mind games with you for sure.
