Mel_D 6 Posted October 13, 2019 I am 8 months out (2/12/19) and have reached my goal weight(140lbs) 5lbs less than my dr's goal weight. I am now in a size 27 jean (4/6) and small medium shirt. I dont want to get smaller. How do I go about NOT losong and only maintaining, without adding in carbs. I eat veggies but avoid white and refined carbs (including potatoes) I dont want to get back into old habits. 1 2 GreenTealael, Orchids&Dragons and Flo-grown reacted to this

Link below. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/425802-the-maintenance-thread/?page=28 The only way to stop losing weight is to increase your calories and follow your dietitians maintenance food plan. Maintaining is a new mindset. Carbs are not evil. Low glycemic carbs (sweet potato, brown rice and whole wheat nothing white or processed) and adding healthy fats will help you move into maintaining. (Again, check your maintenance plan for foods allowed) 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

AZhiker 2,253 Posted October 13, 2019 Wonderful! Congratulations. You can start adding small amounts of healthy, unprocessed whole grains: Quinoa, brown rice, millet, sorghum, teff, amaranth, steel cut oats, buckwheat..... Cook and serve with meals. You can also add in small amounts of higher carb veggies like sweet potato, beets, carrots, butternut squash, pumpkin. Just make everything healthy and nutritionally dense and you will be fine.
