I would appreciate joining this group. I was sleeved March 2014 and getting a revision to RNY on November 11th . I would love to hear others experiences. I’m curious if recovery is the same, if the Reflux goes away and if there is weight loss. Also wondering if they adjust the sleeve size in the process.

I was sleeved 2014, never met my goal weight and gained over half my weight back [emoji17]. Being revised to rny on 11/8 due to horrible GERD! My surgeon stated the revision will correct my GERD and well as jump start my weightloss. Would love to hear some revision stories.

I’d love to follow and join. I was sleeved Feb 2015 and lost 117 pounds. I gained 40 lbs of it back and some bile reflux. I’m scheduled to get revised to RNY on Oct 29th. I would love to hear more experiences with this revision.

Good Luck! I just had my sleeve converted to a bypass! I’m two weeks post op!

I’m trying to rally round some more specific support for people that are Sleeve to RNY (either pre or post op RNY). Not sure the best way to do this. I did create a group.... anyone interested? It’s called “Revision Journey.” Anyone interested?

Went from sleeve to bypass early April. Lost the 50 lbs I gained on steroids and my GERD is cured (that’s why I got it plus gastroparesis). I’m at my original goal weight so time for a new one! 💪🏼

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
