So exciting to see so many posts on this thread! It means we are all getting closer and closer to surgery!

My excitement of the day is that I discovered Ensure Max Protein Shakes, and they are my favorite so far. It's fun experimenting, and right now I just buy whatever is on sale. Ensure was on sale, so I tried it, and I love it! So that's my exciting news! ha ha ha!!

Really, with just a tomorrow left of my full liquid, I have been not happy with the shakes as of late. Since I was having a day, then in liquid phase, were to be 5. Good Lord, my taste buds are like no not again. Luckily only need to be 4 ounces but I think that’s it the problem.
Anyway, good luck every on the way to the winner’s circle this morning!

Dec 11. I’m excited!! I’m also annoyed with this liquid diet. It’ll be worth it in the end.

December 5. Keep your eyes on the prize! PCP office called redo some blood tests immediately. Surely, it didn’t take them 3 weeks to look at them. 2 sleeps. Today is cleanup and out day! Last day Full Liquid, after couple day break I was able to stomach the Protein Shakes again. Today will be a toilet day, citrate magnesia right after my tea, but last nights colace sees to be busy without help. Yep, eyes on the prize.

I’m trying so hard. I’ve had a Migraine since yesterday. I know it’s an adjustment. My body is used to more food. Luckily I have a great support group, a freezer full of sugar free popsicles, and a 64oz yeti full of Water.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
