Clothing situation

About a decade ago, when I had lost what I thought was a good amount of weight, there was an online group (do not remember it) where you could post sizes and pics of clothes you had and them arrange to swap/send to someone else. Usually whomever was receiving the clothes paid for shipping and sometimes if the item was dressy/expensive/with tags, you would work out an acceptable arrangement with that person. Likewise, as I lost weight, I posted my clothes and arranged for new homes.

I realize this sounds maybe complicated but it was vastly easy at the time. Perhaps I had more energy? I don't see anything like this these days. I'm not a big FB person but I guess that might be the likeliest place for something like this to be done..especially if it is centered in your own 'local area'...

Just thinking/writing out loud, I guess..

I have sold many items on eBay in the last year as I have gotten smaller. I have bought and sold on there for 18 years with no problems. All that is required is to take pictures of what you are selling and provide measurements since sizing is so crazy. I have found that any type of jeans/capris sell very well as well as new with tags items. I only accept Paypal for payment and then I have a Paypal balance which I can use on eBay or a lot of other places. I use Priority Mail so the PO provides the boxes and I print the postage at home so all I have to do is drop the packages at the PO (you can also have them picked up by the PO but I have not tried that). It is like exchanging stuff that is too big to buy what I want. Years ago, the Atkins board had a clothing exchange thread but it did not really take off too well.

I usually give to Goodwill etc. I’ve gone from a 7XL to 2xl so it’s drastic

OMG, I almost said it was on a forum having to do with Atkins! Too funny! Thanks for the reminder about ebay! I get worried I won't get the stuff shipped out on time but I need to get past that.

The support group at my hospital did a clothing exchange every month. It worked fairly well for the women, but there were only a few of us men and the options were pretty limited. I ended up giving most of my old clothes to Goodwill. I'm happy to spend money on new clothes as long as they are smaller, not larger!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
