Yay. Isn’t it exciting? You have such a pretty face, wait until the rest of you feels just as healthy and bright. You’re going to feel amazing.

I got sleeved just last week. Tomorrow will be one week out. I had a good amount of pain and discomfort but I don’t care. I can’t wait to loose the weight. I feel hopeful again after feeling so helpless and hopeless for so long.

Good luck!

I’m feeling good. Pain is usually worse in the morning. After I get up and walk around a bit and take my meds it’s not so bad.

Congrats! It's going to be an exciting journey! I go in for my band to bypass revision just a few days after you on the 24th! I'm trying to hustle and get everything I need for the post-op diet. Hope to see you following up on here about your progress!

Congratulations!! I have kaiser so I have until October 28th as my last class then I get to do whatever else is required. I’m really hoping for a thanksgiving surgery timeframe, but we’ll see. Who is your surgeon? What’s the preop diet like?

My revision surgery is on the 21st as well. I'm so excited although I'm a bit concerned. I only have to do my pre-OP diet 4 days before surgery. I'm actually wondering if it's because I have a lower BMI....hmmmm[emoji848]

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
