Ok thnx well I'm preop started at 322 currently 285 hoping to get to about 185 eventually :)

That is awesome! And trust me it’s doable. They told me I wouldn’t lose more than 150lbs and I’m at 185. So keep working at it.
if you ever need tips don’t hesitate and reach out :)

@Mikeyy I feel you brother. Not easy sometimes. And we have to support each other. Not everyone knows the reality and struggles of what we go through and live with daily.
I used to wear a 7xl shirt. A size 68 pant waist. Jeans would cost me 120$ a pair. You know how glad I was to buy a pair of 18$ wranglers off Amazon? ?? Lol

Hey guys decided I would post some pics and my story. I’m Mike and I’m 37 from Montreal. Waited a full 5 years to get this surgery. Best decision I ever made.

Surgery was Nov. 22, 2018 and I’ve since lost over 180 lbs! I work out 6 times a week; cardio, swimming and various exercises.

let me know what you think!

Fitting in airplane seats is awesome. I remember the first time I wasn't squished against the person next to me or didn't need a seat belt extender. But that was a thrill.

You look great! Keep up the good work.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
