Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

Recommended Posts

I never thought I would lose enough weight to actually post, so for all of you who have slow weight loss - do not lose faith.

I think I almost went one full year without a fill, I didn't have great restriction, and then I begged for him to fill me tight - and he did, and the weight started to come off again - THANK GOODNESS. I've got 40 more to go, but I have HOPE!

Here are my new befores/afters. Ignore my funny face in all of these, lol! I can't take a straight-faced pic to save my life. The first "after" pic I had to pee really, really bad (in case your'e wondering about the stance). One of these days I'll take a g-rated full-body pic. More pics on Flickr: Photos from puddin_pie.

Finally I can post a picture!!! This is a work in progress and here's how far I've come in 12 weeks since surgery. First pic is in January on our cruise on the Freedom 3 months before surgery. Second pic is this morning before church. I see a body change and an attitude change. LOVE my band!!!

i am approaching my 9 month anniversary and have lost about 115 pounds (i havent stepped on the scale in about 5 days).

my weight before surgery was 402.5 and i can now say i live in twoterville ... :)

my "before" shirt was a 6XL, my current shirt - 1XL ...

i can fit in 18/20 tops (from a 44ish) and bottoms are tricky - usually 20-22 fit (down from 44-46).

this has been SO worth it!!!

I'm stalling because I am eating CRAP and so I am going to try and be more active to keep me motivated. I was banded Dec '06 but chickened out on getting a fill until mid March '07. I started at 217+ lbs ( last time I looked at the scale pre-fill) and am not at 181 where I have been for weeks and I need to get back to eating right and working out.

I have 30 lbs to reach my goal, and 8 lbs until my BMI is out of the overweight range. Good thing I am sabotaging myself these days.....

I cannot resist making stupid faces because I feel like a total dork getting my picture taken.

The photo on the left is from August 2006. The one on the right, July 2007 (My husband took the pic when I wasn't expecting it). I'm down 30. I am waiting to get my port reattached so I can get another fill (I've only had one, and that was in March '07)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
