Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me? I tried adding Isopure unflavored to my coffee this morning! Ahhhh! Gross! Did I get a bad batch?

Protein has a flavor even when unflavored. I wouldn't put that in coffee, I agree with O&D, it curdled, basically. You'd be better off using it in something strongly flavored and cold. Or use it in baking.

I use the unflavored in savory dishes and in baking only.

To mix with fluids, the Fluid needs to be room temp and you make a slurry first. Then add the rest of the liquid to it slowly while stirring to get all the clumps out.

Then you slowly nuke to warm. If you exceed 140degrees, it will clump. It's still edible. You can blend it sometimes. But it's not that appealing...

I use things like ready to drink Protein in my coffee (both hot and cold) and my teas (hot and cold)

Oh man! The Protein Powder I used before mixed beautifully in my morning coffee. I loved it, I only bought this one because it was a little cheaper.

I love the Isopure mixed in cold cream Soups and things like smashed cauli Soup or smashed cauliflower. :) Sorry to hear that!! What brand were you using?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
