Hi,

My doctor doesn’t permit any Protein Shakes after 2 weeks. I know it’s unusual, but he is a really good doctor.

I’m having trouble meeting my Protein count! Can I just put Protein into the food I’m eating? If so, do you have any suggestions?

I’m allergic to nuts if they makes any difference.

Thanks

I am just using unflavoured Protein Powder and adding it to my drinks/soups etc :) has no nasties and isn't horribly sweet like all the Protein Shakes :)

I use unflavored pea Protein in Soups, and vanilla protein powder in smoothies and yoghurt. It is the only way I can keep my protein up to where it should be.

I found that one scoop of the Protein powder I use (PEScience Select) mixes very well with TwoGood Yogurt (80 calories, 2 grams of sugar, and 12 grams protein) it has a texture like frosting. I stick to having protein supplements for Breakfast since I don’t have energy for anything else.

my nutritionist also said to go off protein supplements at some point but that once a day was ok and suggested mixing protein powder in yogurt and other foods.

My doctor wanted me to stop shakes at about week nine. I always found Greek yoghurt a good way to get Protein. Also, a personal favorite of mine is dry-roasted edamame, which are super-high in protein.

If you add Protein powder to hot foods, let them cool a bit first. Adding the protein to super-hot liquids will make it clump.

I just went to my 8 year check up, and my doctor still wants me to use them. I just can’t get my Protein in without at least a shake a day. I had a really busy day at work today and I couldn’t get my normal snacking on so I’m drinking a protein 2o Water right now to make up for it. Usually I snack on cheese sticks, and turkey sticks. They sell the packs with the cheese sticks at Walmart. I eat a lot of beef Jerky, foster farms started selling little pack of cubed chicken in different flavors. Here are some pictures of my usual Snacks that help a lot.

Here's a sample for you that is appropriate for week two. It is about 1/4cup of food per meal. You might not be able to finish your tuna lunch, but you could come back in an hour or so and be able to finish it -- in the early days.

Also, don't know if your doc allows you to drink milk. My doc wants us to drink 1-2 glasses of milk per day as part of our plan to get Calcium and Protein in, but I rarely do it--cuz I don't really like it.

You can jazz up yogurt with Water drops in different fruit flavors. I like doing plain low fat Greek, cuz then I know exactly how much yogurt I'm getting relative to the additives that they put in it.

Also 3oz of swai (pangasius) is a light fish. It is a raw measurement and it shrinks a ton. So this should give you 1/4c of cooked fish (about 1 1/2-2oz cooked). And at first, you will basically only be eating protein and some meat lube (low cal, low carb, low sugar) sauces at each meal.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
