Now when I see MO people...

I don’t look what other people buy at the grocery store. Judgment free zone in my world.

I would hope most people are too caught up in their own little worlds to police other people's groceries. I'm not a big fan of the food police.

I now have fantasies of going to costco and over-filling my cart with bags and bags of those Jumbo-size Cheetos (while eating out of an open one, natch).

The food police would LOVE to rip apart my carts hahaha I have chips, breads, pastas ,rice, Cookies, juice etc ... along with a ton of veggies/fruits, Proteins, dairy etc . I don’t eat them but someone has to buy groceries for my kids and husband. I am also not going to raise them to have this distorted view on food. Everything in moderation is fine.

I wonder if the same food police would look at my husband the same with the same cart load... with his bf % being low

That is the "best self" speaking! I confess that I am not my best self, many times when I see what other people put in their carts. It's not judgement as much as sadness, especially when I see the fat little kids who don't have a chance.

Nah. This reeks of judgement.

People are going to judge, and judge on a variety criteria, your car, you zip code, you accent etc. That's unavoidable IMO,

But if an attractive, thin, fit man or woman had a cart full of chips, frozen pizza, Hamburger Helper and ice cream. Would they be judged as harshly or even at all? Why is that same food fine for someone skinny, but is interpreted as some kind of moral failing if it's in a MO person's cart?

I feel like the dichotomy between "fat people food" and "skinny people food" is false. Skinny people eat Cheetos, and fat people eat Zoodles. The same food is viewed through completely different lenses depending upon who's pushing the cart.

You are right. When I see little fat kids who are going to have diabetes and high blood pressure by the time they are ten years old, I am making a judgement. (I'll never forget the first MO child I saw with a BP of 145/90.) A judgement on our society that has 2/3 of the population being overweight or obese, a judgement about personal choices, and a judgement about the total failure of our educational system and government programs that have been controlled by special interest groups - to the peril of the population. A judgement about how on earth we are going to support the health care needs of so many "self induced" co-morbidities. Making these judgments motivates me to also be a part of the solution. As a health care professional, I am working within our system to provide education and resources for MO patients, and working with one of our doctors to initiate a program to screen for fatty liver disease, and subsequent educational followup. I came so close to losing my own life from MO, and I want to do whatever I can to prevent that from happening to others, especially the youngest ones.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
