Need Help! Need a nutritional guide or guidelines on what to eat ? I’m 4 weeks out and I want to try a salad or anything. I would like a meal plan of 4 weeks or 5 weeks or something.

I don’t have a nutritionist assign to me or anything.

I wasn't eating salad until I was about six months out. Raw vegetables can be rough on healing stomachs. I was eating either purees or soft foods at that point - yogurt, cottage cheese, hummus, refried beans...that kind of thing

does your surgeon's office have any guidelines?

My day 22-36 SOFT diet says 700 cals/day, all foods on pureed diet. Separate fluids from meals (30 minutes before and 30 minutes after), aim for 90 grams of Protein, Meal Replacement Protein Shakes, grits, soft, moist, diced and ground protein items, fruit (without seeds), canned fruits or cooked fruits, 4-6 small meals per day, chew chew chew, 64oz Water, Vitamins.

Maintenance starts at day 37, adding one food item at a time and 1000 calories per day with 90-100 grams of protein, meal replacement shakes, all foods on pureed diet and soft diet if needed, separate fluids from meals, 5-6 small meals per day, 3 meals with 2-3 Snacks, scrambled eggs, creamy Peanut Butter 1 tbsp, use calorie app, 64 oz water, bariatric vitamins, chew chew chew, use baby spoon/fork/plates, each meal should be 1.5 cups or less in volume. No straw/carbonation/alcohol, no rice/bread/tortilla/pasta/popcorn, no fried foods or high fat meats, no raw fruits/dried fruit, no seeds/nuts, no celery/broccoli/corn/cabbage.

I would definitely check with your own surgeon as they may have a different plan... but maybe this will help~!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
