Recidivist 1,141 Posted September 1, 2019 I am six months after RnY surgery and everything is going well. I'm happy with my weight loss and feel great. One continuing issue, however, is that my voice has become weak. All of my friends and family have told me that I speak much more softly since the surgery, and there are days when my voice is so shot by the end of the day that I can barely speak. Has anyone else encountered this? 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
april042019 105 Posted September 1, 2019 I've felt a small change in my voice but nothing like what you've mentioned. I think that when you lose a lot of weight your vocal system could become more fragile and maybe that's what you're experiencing. I still think you should maybe talk to your PCP about it just to make sure it's not anything else. 1 Recidivist reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted September 1, 2019 And mine they believe is due to all the endoscopies I have had done- 14 at last count- vocal cords got a little trauma from all that tubing going through repeatedly. The Blessing: along with all the other portions of ME that got smaller, I now have an "indoor" voice , no more Ms Big Mouth for ME. 1 Recidivist reacted to this
Bastian 458 Posted September 1, 2019 I would definitely get this checked out. So long after surgery, your vocal cords really should have recovered. Always best to get checked and it = nothing than ignoring things and they = something 2 Recidivist and FluffyChix reacted to this
