Jack 855 Posted August 29, 2019 Continue to be mostly satisfied with results. Band is still moody at times. Life is good 4 1 FluffyChix, Healthy_life2, jfc193 and 2 others reacted to this

Jack 855 Posted August 29, 2019 Last weigh in a few weeks ago was 281. This seems to be a gravitation issue rather like the hold Saturn has on the tiny satellites about the ring formation. I've had a 'keep the Band/rip it out' debate for the last few years. Still down from my highest weight by 90 #; not enough as my 'size 42 pants' didn't quite happen. Size 44 lasted for years, as did size 46. Now 48 seems a little more snug. Yet I managed a 1.5 mile walk last week, & continue remarkable daily activities. I spent several years as virtual house bound as other skeletal issues must be accommodated. Daily focus on Health helps. 3 1 GradyCat, ProudGrammy, FluffyChix and 1 other reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted August 29, 2019 What is your diet like? Do you plan, track, weigh, measure, or anything like that? Just curious. We don't see many people from 2004 procedures here. 3 GradyCat, ProudGrammy and jfc193 reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted August 29, 2019 I didn't realize you could have a lap band for that long. I thought they were short-term. To be honest, I don't know that much about lap bands. 3 april042019, ProudGrammy and FluffyChix reacted to this
Jack 855 Posted September 2, 2019 I tracked everything I ate for 3 years running & didn't lose an oz. Tight control of 1800-2000 calories. Various issues such as Barrett's esophagitis came & went....mostly. At 70 ++ I'm mostly convinced the Band not only saved my life but continues to help despite moments pondering whether further surgery has likely benefit. Haven't followed much here lately. 1 jfc193 reacted to this

I also believe that the band has saved my life. No doubt I would be over 400 lbs by now. My quality of life has greatly improved these last 12 years. 2 mlmx1138 and Jack reacted to this
