Tonight I went to Target and bought a couple shirts. One was in the women's department but i went from a 20/22 to a 16/18. Secondly, I bought my first shirt in the "normal" girls department... granted it is a XXL but that doesn't matter. I have not been able to buy anything in that dept. for years and years..... I am sooooooooooo happy!:clap2:

Oh, it feels so fantastic to walk past the plus sized shops. Never ever ever will I go into one again.

Congrats on buying a normal size. It is so fantastic to be able to buy fashionable clothes, buy what you need without paying double the price for it, and just race out and pick something up for that dinner or whatever.

Well done Saintluver, great effort! I can't wait to be able to buy clothes because I like them and not because I can get into them! I'm in the middle of a big clean out ... lot's of stuff doesn't fit anymore so it's going, and I'm moving down through the size rack that my wardrobe had become!

My NSV this week was on the weekend I took part in a women's triathlon event. I did the swim leg for the team and despite not breaking any speed records I was so excited to actually be there taking part. Several months ago I wouldn't have dreamed of being seen in public in a swimsuit, let alone running from the pool to transition area in one :faint:

I am so excited about the new life I am creating, sure the weight loss is great, but even better is the feeling that I can be a part of the 'normal' world. I left with a goal that next year I would enter the small event as an individual ... better get training for that bike and run leg! :whoo:

Your feet are shrinking? This is horrifying news people!

I have a small fortune in shoes my feet can not re-size!!!!!!! My food issue is nothing compared to my love of shoes. I couldn't buy nice clothes so I bought shoes!!!!!!

Do you really think my feet will shrink. Your freaking me out Mr. N. I only wear an 8.5 now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
