How to cancel the "big girl" clothing catalogs?

Recommended Posts

Hello all - newbie around here, and still learning to navigate the boards, unsure whether to post this in the ladies sub-board or not, I know that men get catalogs too! Surely not as many as women ha ha (who knows, I digress...).

Suffice to say after many years in the plus-size world, I get reams and reams of plus-size clothing catalogs in my mailbox every day or every other day - yikes. All those attempts I made to look as nice as I could while being in 2x+ really made those companies a lot of $$$ and I don't blame them for wanting more lol.

However, I'm really big (HA no pun intended!) on not just the food aspect of the post-op journey, but on the emotional healing and well-being part too - which, for me includes ridding my life of my morbidly obese history (not erasing it, mind you - but perhaps softening the focus, to look forward). For me, it's not at all denial (I mean, is there any way one could forget that part?! 🤨), but for the positive visualization/feedback loop/path forward/whatever-it's called - which is really important to me.

My "constant regulars" consist of the Holy Plus-Size Trifecta of Romans, Woman Within, and Full Beauty - I could not afford (or chose not to afford) the higher-end brands with their sticker-shock price tags ($175+ for a tent... uh... I mean "dress" for another exciting (sarc) public/family/etc. fancy event or physically-miserable vacation - noooooo 😆).

Anyone else cancel all the plus-size style catalogs and if so, any tips on how? Thanks in advance!

I wonder if you can go to their web site and they may have a number you can call?

Oh my Lord ha ha, I will certainly post an update! I never got zinged on Torrid's radar, thank goodness - but heaven knows my long history with The Holy Trifecta purchases, and that got picked up by other companies, yeesh.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
