Resident Hospital for Plastics

Recommended Posts

As of right now, I received quotes from two different surgeons for an arm lift. One was close to $15,000 and another was about $10,000. The Tummy Tuck for the higher end surgeon was in the $20k's and the lower end surgeon would give me a price right now.

I have read on other forums, a lot of people use resident hospitals for plastic surgery. They say it is 1/3 of the cost and that a board certified surgeon is present for the surgery and supervises the whole thing. I'm close to the NYC area which has excellent hospitals so I know I'd be in good hands. Anybody on here look into resident hospitals for their plastics? Resident hospital is looking better and better to me. 😉

Those prices make mine look like it was an absolute sale. My arms8600 LBL and BL 2400 and thigh lift 12500 or so. I chose a local MD He gets people from about the country for his work not prices. NJ is not too far out. Keep looking. For m experience and access were huge.

I’m starting my plastics consultations this week. I’m curious what my quotes will come in at.

But, IMO, the quality of work between a resident and an experienced surgeon is significantly different. Arm lifts are not Uber common, and as I understand pretty tricky.

The aesthetics of my surgery are very important to me (thin scars, natural looking belly button etc). I would not make any compromises in that area

Keep getting quotes. NYC has lots of options.

I would be scared to have residents do it, even if they were supervised. Those prices you got are crazyyyy. I thought mine were high! 6K for arm lift, 8k for Tummy Tuck. And then 5k for facility and anesthesia fees.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
