Had my sleeve surgery yesterday. I just got home an hour ago. My stomach feels like i did 1 thousand crunches. My nausea was very bad at the beginning but has pretty much gone away. The gas pain is real. I had it in my upper back up and over my chest and both shoulders. 5 walks and 5 times using deep breathing, only 1 shoulder has some discomfort. Each day things get better and less sore. I do not regret my surgery at all.
Glad your doing well. How are you doing with the liquid diet? I can't wait to see my Dr. On the 19th. Stage 2 diet here I come!

Guys I'm so nervous. Can't believe it's just about here. My surgery is in the morning at 10:30 in Boca Raton with Dr. Shillingford. I flew in from The Bahamas yesterday and leave next Friday. I'm praying I have no gas pains and nausea. Truly praying.

Nikki congrats on you surgery. You did great. Linda you are almost there so keep pushing. I will let all you guys know how it goes tomorrow.

What do they charge in Mexico. I have had several procedures done there. I see Dr. Carmina Cardenas. She did my lower body lift, back lift, arm lift fat transfer to the butt and Lipo

It is about 5k with everything involved

Just had my sleeve September 10th. 4 days post op currently. Why can’t I stop thinking about food!
I'm 2 weeks and 3 days post opt. I could not stop thinking about food either. I was wondering if they even taken my stomach out. It takes awhile for your brain to catch up to your stomach. It was about 10-12 days post opt when it fully subsided.

Hey Pey, how are you doing? With the surgery and with the aftermath of the hurricane?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
