Frustr8 7,886 Posted August 20, 2019 OSU gave me none also, but I felt on " Room Arrest"- spent 3 days in my room- Only time I saw the Hallway was when I was leaving. Nobody gave ME a clear answer on "Why" Facility Policy? I am a Fall Risk? Since I am without my C-Pap I am on 02? Everbody too busy to walk with me? Everybody hates ME but it would be unprofessional to tell me so? Actually- I wish I hadn’t been given any ! when I was in the hospital they had those things on my legs that a machine "massages" continuously to keep blood clots from forming, but once I was out of the hospital - no. I didn't have compression stockings. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

FluffyChix 17,415 Posted August 20, 2019 I took mine off when I could walk the halls which was same day as surgery. I had the compression machine also and lovenox shots, but the machine also stopped when I started walking. 1 GradyCat reacted to this

I also use a circulation booster .

ARMoma45 353 Posted August 20, 2019 I had the leg thingies in the hospital but took them off when I started walking. I also got heparin shots in the hospital but when I came home I didn't have shots or socks.
S@ssen@ch 745 Posted August 20, 2019 I had the intermittent pneumatic compression cuffs on my legs in the hospital. You know, those things that inflate to prevent blood clots. They sent me home with the anti-embolism stockings. Those very attractive white things with the hole in the toe (NOT)! I don't remember wearing them after getting home, BUT I do have athletic compression stockings that I have worn for years. My work is mostly sedentary and if I sit at my computer for long periods of time, I get ankle swelling. So, I wear them to prevent elephant ankle. I also like wearing them when I fly. Energizes my legs a bit. The ones I have are more attractive than the white ones from the hospital and have a stronger compression. https://procompression.com/ I could get them in loud colors and patterns for fun, but I ordered my original set (6 pairs) when I worked in an office environment and had to dress business/business casual. So, I have all black. Now that I work from home, I still use them. If/when these wear out, I plan on getting some fun ones. I have no one to impress other than myself these days. Did you find the leg thingies (😀) uncomfortable ?
