So I ended up going to the ER on Wednesday due to dehydration. The ER doctor did a blood panel on me and found out that my Liver Count was 232 and said that it's supposed to be less than 50.

He was concerned and called the surgeon. No one gave me any suggestions on how to fix it, but told me to come back today and get another blood test ran.

On Wednesday and Thursday, I made sure I drank no less than 32 ounces of G Zero and I doubled my Protein Shake to 16 ounces and did that twice that day. This would give me 64 ounces.

I noticed on Thursday that my urine was getting lighter, it was dark but it was lighter than before. On Friday I noticed that it was even lighter.

I was tested Today and my count was half what it was on Wednesday.

The Surgeon said I'll be fine.

I physically had his nurse on the phone and I was very complete in explaining my whole experience to her. She was shocked. She stated that she thought something was up with the recent patients and blamed it on lack of training to the nursing staff.

I'm going to be watching Dr. V's videos tonight etc

I really thank you guys for all the helpful tips and replies. I studied a lot to make sure this will be successful, I love these forums they are very helpful!

You will be Ok. We sorta expect our bodies to act up a little because we have taken more than half of it's stomach away. I'm so proud of how you made your own adjustments with the liquids!! Yes, go watch Dr. V's videos - he has so much knowledge regarding what you are going through. Keep us posted please.

I am angry to hear this! This partly happened to me (but I caught it and my NUT did too -- they gave me the wrong food/bev tray twice. I refused and actually got my surgeon in trouble.). Check out YouTube for "Dr v weight loss." He has an awesome set of videos (A LOT of them). Not sure if it will help you to figure out the "hydration" issue, but search :). He is hilarious, but on point for so much. Good luck! I just took my time and drank from little small cups until I got more down!

Thank you for the Dr V suggestion. He makes so much sense & it’s very helpful

Stay hydrated. I would also suggest Protein 2o Water. I love the grape one. It might go down easier than plain water since you can’t handle it. I had a different experience, so after my original sleeve I couldn’t swallow an ounce of anything because my sleeve had swollen shut. But you sound so much better. Also try the chicken broth Protein Powder, if it’s warm it might go down better. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
