that's WAY above average. Unless you're talking "My 600 lb Life" contestants, who start out at much higher BMI's than the average bariatric patient, an average range of loss for the first month is more like 15-25 lbs.

I lost 16 lbs the first month, and I started out at over 300 lbs.

And at 11 months 🐺woman 7, my friend, I am Now one- half the size I started this last Weight Loss trek at - 188 pounds , down from 365+ , and it has its moments of glory, a few tendrils to cling to- but similar to the Bible teaching
What does it benefit a man to gain the whole world and lose his immortal soul?
Along with the weight lost, I lost ME- will I ever find ME through all this? It is my fervent prayer🙏 I STILL WILL!

Think about how long it would take to lose 30 lbs before surgery? It's almost a miracle.

That is excellent! I keep reading posts where we have been conditioned by what we should be losing based on what we see on television as well as comparing ourselves to others. It has been almost 3 months for me and I am down 40lbs. I had to accept that my body and metabolism is specific to me. Not to mention, when was the least time I lost 40lbs in 3 months....that would be never. Try to stay focused on the fact that you are definitely losing and getting healthier every day. I wish you the best. 👍🏽

Congratulations! 30 lbs is fantastic! Be proud of yourself and try not to compare your progress to how others have done. Everyone is so different. Just focus on your own accomplishments and enjoy!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
