Hello everyone! I just had my gastric sleeve done on Tuesday! And was discharged on Thursday! But since my discharge I’ve been very nauseous and vomiting white foamy stuff! Has anybody had that issue! Am taking my nausea medication as directed! It’s usually in the morning it happens!

Any advice is welcome!

Thank you

I had lots of nausea, especially the first three days and then on and off for about eight weeks depending on what I ate. I was vomiting in the hospital but because there was no food nothing came up, just a bad taste in my mouth which made the nausea worse.

This will most likely go away soon so just hang in there and take your anti nausea medicine if you have.

I didn't have any nausea once I left the hospital, but sometimes once I started on solid foods I get the "foamies." You'll see here on the forums about the "foamies." It happens when you eat something your body is rejecting or isn't ready for. I'm 8 months post-op sleeve and my stomach will not tolerate bread or soft tortillas and I get the "foamies" if I eat them. It's like throwing up, but no food comes out, just foam or mucus.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
