"Gold standard" is accurate, because it's not based on feelings or popularity, it's an actual medical term, based on decades of research and results. Not that it means it is the best standard for *each and every person.* YMMV.

I did really well but they ended up doing the sleeve instead of RNY. I’m very disappointed but I’ll deal with it tomorrow because I’ve exhausted!! ?!? Hopefully as I read on I'll see why. KishaG 61 Posted August 24, 2019 Ok, where are my surgery twins? I thought I was going to be the only one who hadn't come and checked in lol. So surgery went great, I remember being really surprised around 3 or 4pm on Monday that I was ready to walk but they didn't want me to just yet. No air passed anywhere. Tuesday OMG came off the pain pump and promptly needed a nap. I did not know I had to ask for pain medicine after the pump was removed. I had weird dreams and woke up in agony, more walking no air passed. Something really odd happened Tuesday afternoon, I freaked out couldn't breath hyperventilating no idea why but that just added to the whole miserable awful day. The dietician did tell me that 2nd day is normally worse, and since they fixed my hernia that affected me as well. Came home Wed thankfully slept for like 12 hours that was amazing. Today is the first day I kind of feel like a human. Tues-Thurs I am not going to lie, I had a lot of why the hell did I do this to myself, what if I am going through all of this for nothing. Thankfully I am passed that now, looking at some before and after pics helped me with that. I can't believe I'm on the losing side. I am so ready 2 1 1 Krimsonbutterflies, Frustr8, TravMac and 1 other reacted to this

TravMac 42 Posted August 27, 2019 Hey guys, sorry it's been way too long, but I'm checking in. Feeling great!!!! But..... just wait around for 10 minutes and I might bite off your head!!!!!! So, mood swings have been going for the last few days, I'm not a scientist or doctor but I pretty sure I know why they are happening. Other then the swings and sometimes lack of energy, it's been so much better than I originally thought it might be. I've been slowly been getting more active again, taking long walks and can't wait for my 1st post-op visit. I'm still on liquids(anything that goes through a strainer) and will be until my 1st visit. I'm guessing I will remain on liquids until mid-September, but who knows. I really feel like I'm recovering at a fast pace, but not going to take any chances. We all work so so hard to get to this point and I know the cost. I really hope everyone is doing great post-op and off to a great start! Can't wait to post my 1st before and after photos too! 1 Krimsonbutterflies reacted to this
