Klimczak 1 Posted August 7, 2019 Hi! Anyone that has gone from LB to RNY: I have the LB and get stuck ALL. The. time. Even when I am unfilled! Is there a similar sensation with the RNY? I know the procedures are very different, but didn’t know if there was a similar, terrible feeling when you don’t chew enough or eat too much/fast. Thanks! NYJenn 1,463 Posted August 7, 2019 If I eat too fast or don’t chew enough I absolutely get the stuck feeling. Just threw up yesterday! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted August 7, 2019 It depends what shape your esophagus and tum are in as a result of the band. I'm a new RNY (no conversion) and it's very rare for me to have that stuck feeling but when I do, I know it's cuz my esophagitis is acting up again. ((hugs)) 1 Klimczak reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted August 7, 2019 I never had lapband -- just RNY -- but I rarely get that feeling

elcee 3,341 Posted August 8, 2019 I went from band to RNY in Jan and I never get a stuck feeling. My diet now is far healthier, it’s good to be able to eat steak and chops and not to spend nights out throwing up in restaurant loos. If you are looking for a feeling of restriction it is unlikely you will have one. It’s more about measuring portions and knowing what should be enough. I have to say it’s also a pleasure to not have that awful sensation in the chest and throat if I’ve eaten too much, now I feel it in the stomach like a “ normal “ person would. 2 Klimczak and TX2NC reacted to this
