GingerSlim 128 Posted August 6, 2019 Just curious- for those of you who had revision from VSG to RNY, are there any foods you ate all the time with the sleeve that you can no longer tolerate after your revision to RNY (or vice versa)? I’m still on full liquids, but I really had no problems with any foods (except kale) after the sleeve. I go back to work when I’m on puréed and afraid of eating something that will make me sick at work. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this

Oh no! please dont hurt me Kale 😭 I would be devastated I'm newly revised as well and I had a few shaky moments over the past week with foods i was fine with prior. I cannot have cream based Soups anymore. It makes me too quesy. Luckily i dont need them. I know think any super fatty food that isn't a nut may bother me. Also the smell of foods are heightened as well. Otherwise ive been taking it *somewhat* slowly and eating the foods im used to. I'm curious about vegetables/leafy greens as those are my loves. 2 GingerSlim and FluffyChix reacted to this
GingerSlim 128 Posted August 6, 2019 I still have 1 week until I go to puree stage, but I will be traveling for work for 2 weeks while on soft foods 1 week & transition to regular diet the last week. I hate the thought of experimenting with foods from a hotel room or restaurant.

Shells_Almost_There 357 Posted August 13, 2019 I find that I can't have the Protein Bars or shakes that I relied on before and after VSG. Now, they are too sweet and (sorry, TMI) I almost immediately get the shakes (dumping) and will probably have to run to the bathroom. And really, that's what's changed the most after my revision to RNY - I haven't had more than maybe 5 normal BMs in 19 months.
GingerSlim 128 Posted August 13, 2019 Today was my first day of puréed food. I was at work & decided to heat up scrambled eggs. Bad move!! I think by re- heating them in the microwave they became firmer. I took 3 bites and it felt like there was a fist in my chest. They wouldn’t go down & wouldn’t come up. It took about a half hour for the pain to go away and for me to stop spitting (gross!). Not the experiences out want to have at work!
