Avery's Mom 315 Posted August 5, 2019 I am really struggling with my stomach. so saggy and loose and seems nothing I do is helping to tighten it up. I kow some of this is genetics and the amount to lose/lost, etc. WHAT are you go to ab exercises. what has worked for you? 1 GradyCat reacted to this

Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted August 5, 2019 I'm 50. Bodyweight exercises work well for me at home. We all have our starting point. Do what you can and build up. You don’t have to go balls to the wall with his routine. Diana_in_Philly 1,426 Posted August 5, 2019 I have about 10 extra pounds of skin/fat that are going nowhere and I work out like a demon. I fence (as in en garde) 6-7 hours a week, do a cross fit type class three hours a week, work with a personal trainer 1 hour a week and do pilates and yoga another 2 hours a week. Every other weekend I am fencing competitively. I have a pouch. Nothing is going to do anything about it until I have plastics. If I tighten my abdominals under it you can see the six pack that is there, but that fat and skin is going to have to be surgically removed. You can tighten up the muscles, but that won't cure the giggle. 2 Tracyringo and Jade5 reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted August 5, 2019 there's not much you can do about that short of plastic surgery. I took the plunge and don't have those issues anymore. Before, I did Water aerobics, walked, did yoga, did TRX, the recumbent bike. My stomach slapped around with water aerobics and TRX and got in the way sometimes with yoga. I just dealt with it. I'm glad it's gone now, though.
GradyCat 3,695 Posted August 5, 2019 I'm 54. I go to the gym at least 4 days a week, sometimes more, and do a total of 30 minutes each day of some cardio and some strength training weight lifting machines. On cooler days I also walk outside for 20 minutes. It keeps my legs tight and toned and keeps my blood circulating and healthy.

looly 361 Posted August 9, 2019 My baggy skin is my medal of honour! Every time I look at it, I'm so proud of how well I've done to shed the fat that used to live under it. And if there's anyone who thinks it looks gross, they can 'jog on' - as they say in my neck of the woods. 😉
Screwballski 540 Posted August 11, 2019 I have almost no body fat left. At my heaviest, 10 years ago, I was 260. I'm at 115 now. As you can imagine (even with very little fat left) I have a lot -- they tell mw 12 lbs -- loose skin in all the areas you would expect. At nearly 55 years old, my skin has done better than I expected but its still a mess especially in my bottom, breasts and thighs and arms. Occasionally, I do pull-ups to tighten my arms and core. At this size, with this much extra skin, there is no firm to be had in the loose areas. It's not in the cards. I knew this going in. I consulted with a plastic surgeon long before my sleeve and he was very frank with me. He said that there was no getting around what was going to happen and that the smaller I got the worse the hanging curtain appearance of my rump and thigh skin would be. He correctly predicted that my DD's would completely deflate...that my breasts would be awful. Because my breasts would disappear, my back and side skin would begin to drape , too. He also predicted that my belly skin skirt would not be a tremendous factor and likely absorb (it mostly did) but that my abdomen would be wrinkled and soft. He told me that my arms would not fair well but that they would do far better than my thighs. He did tell me that if I was diligent in eating high Protein, my body would maintain muscle well. He based all of this on the general make up of my body, the condition/elasticity/density of my skin, and my general muscle tone. None of it had anything to do with predicted exercise. I had a neck lift last year. I couldn't live with that extra skin. 1 Torriluv02 reacted to this
