Protein first the size of a deck of cards, then veggies, you should be full then. Don't drink with meals 30 min. prior to or after. Try to get as much protein as you can. Stay away from carbs and starches and sugars.

Don't you have a 2 month follow up appt? The surgeon's office should be giving you guidance on this.

I don't go back for 3 months. I'm just saying that I can't think of anything good to eat. I know what I am supposed to eat, just wanted some opinions on what to eat

At two months, yoghurt and cottage cheese were my staples. Also smoothies made with berries, spinach, Protein Powder. You just have to play around and figure out what works for you. eggs did not work for me. Salmon was great. Cod was not. Calf liver was awesome and went down so easily. It's so different for each person.

At 2 months out, I was allowed to eat "normal" food, but generally kept to soft foods because I was still learning what I could and could not tolerate. Soft foods=things that aren't crunchy. I don't think I had raw veggies for about 3 or 4 months.

Have you tried the different flavored tuna packets? They can be good!

I’ve heard about ricotta pie. Haven’t tried it but people rave about it

In the early days I would go to YouTube and type in what are you eating at 2 months or at 6 months out depending on where I was and get ideas that way. I got some great suggestions back then.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
