DayaPostOp 4 Posted July 30, 2019 i’m 6 months post-op and for the first 6 months i was barely eating. i got really full really fast but i never questioned it because that’s how it’s supposed to be, right? your body TELLS you when you’ve had enough, and i felt full and healthy so i never really thought twice. i went on a REALLY long stall (over a month), and i only started to lose weight again the week of my birthday when i just said f*ck it, it’s my birthday and i’m going to indulge! it sort of kick started my weight loss again, but i think it triggered my old bad habits of eating. i feel hungry all the time now, and i’m scared i might be over eating. i find myself snacking every few hours, and it’s not always a healthy snack. i feel like i know what i have to do but i just need some reassurance and i need someone to tell me this is going to be okay because i really, really don’t want to mess this up. i really need this surgery to work. overthinking is making me crazy. 4 Avery's Mom, GreenTealael, GradyCat and 1 other reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted July 30, 2019 (edited) Watch this video and understand why you MUST build new ways of dealing with food. You must move beyond the myth of restriction and malabsorption for long term success. GradyCat 3,695 Posted July 30, 2019 Nip it in the bud right now before it gets out of control. Go back to how you were eating when you first had the surgery after starting solid foods. Eat Protein. Stay around 800 calories/day. Drink your Water. 5 Tracyringo, heycrystal2052, FluffySaysForkIt! and 2 others reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,436 Posted July 30, 2019 (edited) VEGETABLES AND SALADS Sometimes when you have more capacity to eat you need to eat less calorically dense foods to balance it out. Try switching your snack sources to vegetables to see if your hunger decreases Btw just because you indulged once does not mean you failed or it has to happen often. Good Luck 💜 Edited July 30, 2019 by GreenTealael 4 1 Avery's Mom, FluffySaysForkIt!, FluffyChix and 2 others reacted to this
summerset 5,265 Posted July 30, 2019 If really one indulgence triggered old eating habits to the point that you're struggling now, something went horribly wrong from the beginning.
