cindle 0 Posted July 29, 2019 Hi All, Just wondering how many calories should I be consuming after 2 years post surgery I still have about 70 lbs to lose? Sent from my Acer Chromebook R11 (CB5-132T / C738T / CB3-132) using BariatricPal mobile app
catwoman7 11,220 Posted July 29, 2019 it's hard to say because it depends on so many factors. How many are you averaging now? If you're not sure, track all your food for a week or two and figure out what your average intake is. Then try cutting it back by 100 calories a day, give it a week or two, and see if you weight starts to drop. If it doesn't, cut back by 100 more. Rinse and repeat until your weight starts dropping again. 4 gabybab, FluffyChix, ms.sss and 1 other reacted to this

jultrim18 132 Posted August 1, 2019 I am one year post op. My doctor says to eat 1200 calories a day 💁🏻 That’s a lot of food when it’s high protein! It used to be such few calories when I was fat before surgery 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ 1 Tracyringo reacted to this
MarkLewis 21 Posted August 1, 2019 The PA at the practice told me recently that I need to eat more calories. I was eating about 1200, and she wants me to move up to 1500 and perhaps 1700 on days that I exercise particularly hard. The biggest thing for me is to track everything that I eat and adjust appropriately. I have a huge fear of regaining weight, so I will back off on calories if I feel I am at risk and see how it goes. I think we all constantly adjust to keep on track. 1 Tracyringo reacted to this
