Hello! Does anyone take any super greens? I’ve had them before but I’m thinking it would be very helpful for me right now. I’m still not eating much, and focusing on Protein intake most of all. So I know I’m not getting all the veggies I should be. Just curious about your experience or any recommendations on any!

This might sound kooky, but right after surgery I was STARVING for my greens and garden veggies, but I was not allowed to have them for 8 weeks - not even mushy, soft cooked ones. So I took my garden greens (organic, from my garden) - turnip, spinach, kale, mustard, collards, chard, bok choy, parsnip, broccoli, radish, beet - added some Water and then put them through the blender. I then strained out the Fiber and actually filtered the juice through a coffee filter. I mixed this concentrated green water with my smoothies, and added it to my water bottle. It truly made me feel better. I was getting phytonutrients and live enzymes with every swallow. I would make enough to last several days in the fridge.

My doctor just about came unglued, however, when I showed up with my green water. "You're not supposed to eat vegetables yet!" I explained that I had filtered the juice and that it was a lot healthier than any artificially flavored drinks. He had to admit I was right and that my filtered juice was fine.

Anyway, you can do the same with fresh, organic greens from the grocery store. You will have a product that is unprocessed, chock full of nutrients and probably a lot less expensive than supplements.

...and then my doc was having me add veg to my diet after ten days, as my Protein intake was more than adequate.

Different strokes for different, uh, programs.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
