Is it possible to lose weight in your feet? I’m starting to notice that some of my shoes fit bigger than normal. I will admit my feet used to swell before VGS surgery but it wasn’t every day. I’m not complaining, just shocked !

My husband had a bypass about 15 years ago. He lost 2 shoe sizes.

yes. Some people even go down a size or two. My size stayed the same, but I now wear a medium instead of a wide.

Yep, two sizes.

Also lost weight/swelling in my hands. My ring size drastically changed.

Yes, I've gone down 1 size. When I was thin I was even 1.5 sizes smaller than now.

Absolutely. You lose weight everywhere. Feet and hands included.

Absolutely! Formerly a 9-9.5W. Now a regular 8.5.

I didn't lose a size. I'm still a 39.5 or 40 in my shoes which was a blessing because I have truck loads of shoes, ROFL.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
