I just need to tell someone who cares or understands my anguish about going bald my hair is literally coming out in clumps, strands falling out when the wind blows. This is effing devastating. I get 100gms of Protein. I drink 80 oz or more of Water. I take ALL supplements and NEVER miss. And I **** you not I am literally looking at wigs. I can't even breathe.

I am so sorry. I know firsthand how you feel. I'm losing hair at an alarming rate. I started with a lot if hair, but I bet I have lost almost half my hair. People find my hair everywhere and comment about it. I'm taking Biotin, using biotin Shampoo as well. I'm scared like you. I may also have to start wearing a baseball hat. Search Hair loss. People say it is only temporary. I hope for us both it doesn't last long. 🤢

Please take a deep breath. I am almost 4 years out and my hair fell out the same way. It is your body going into shock. Mine came back when my weightloss slowed and plateaued. Then there was a horrible regrowth. Little hairs kind of curly in my straight hair first sticking out the top of my head. Then took about a year for my hair not to have fuzzy regrowth, but believe me......It will come back. Trust it. It is part of the deal. If you can make it through the choice to have surgery, do what it took to get it done and wait through the part that takes patience, you can make it through anything!!!

First of all, I’m sorry you are dealing with this.

Does the Hair loss show up more with long or short hair? Or does it not make a difference.

I wear my hair short so I was hoping it might not show as much since it is spiky/choppy. Also, does coloring make it worse? (God, I hope not).

Nearly everyone suffers from Hair loss, and yes it sucks! The random people that say they don't I cant figure out what they are doing differently to prevent it either! I don't think that the hair loss shows up more with longer hair than shorter but I do think its more noticeable with long hair.

I dont think it would matter it still sheds short, you probably don't notice it as much. I'm starting to see the stubble if new growth tho.

I’m pre op so no loss yet!

But I must admit I am nervous about it. Yikes!

I am sorry to hear this. I asked about this very issue during my last appointment. I was told that most people lose their hair due to the body being shock after surgery, not so much of a nutrient deficit. I even asked about taking Biotin and collagen and my dr said that it was inevitably going to happen. I believed her but I still bought and take the pills.< /p>

Mine started at 4 months and lasted until about 12 months. I cut my hair shorter and layered it. I don’t think you can really stop it from happening but it does grow back.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
