Jdymitc 43 Posted July 25, 2019 I had a sleeve surgery on 7/15. I was in the hospital 2 days. I did not need help but did not need any pain meds at all after coming home. I do have a no lifting more than 10lbs restriction for 6 weeks and also was not allowed to drive per my surgeon for a week after surgery. You may want to ask your practice what they recommend or what restrictions they will place on you to decide what help will be necessary.
catwoman7 11,221 Posted July 26, 2019 my husband stayed home with me the first week and it was helpful having him around to get things for me, etc, but I probably would have been OK on my own. Especially after the first couple of days, it really wasn't needed.
gabybab 696 Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) It is not an easy road at first, in fact I had serious buyers remorse for a couple weeks. With every day that passes it gets easier and eventually becomes a whole new lifestyle. Know that it gets easier and you will love that you look better, are healthier and have more energy. You will start to love life and love buying new smaller clothes. Wishing you all the best on your journey! Edited July 26, 2019 by gabybab

For me the most important thing for me was keep movement, walking as soon as an hour after surgery, believe it makes a difference in your recovery. Everything will seem hard the first few hours especially sipping Water. Once your walking your body will feel so much better day by day first three days are sensitive. However you will not have any pain just tenderness ..Sent from my moto g(6) play using BariatricPal mobile app
