luvpenguins 3 Posted July 25, 2019 Hi, I went for the consult yesterday & was very pleased with bedside manner of doctor..have been going back & forth deciding about whether to have surgery for about 5 years now but have to do it, sick & tired of feeling like crap, having to look for extended sizes of clothes, etc...I'm just worried that I can't do the diet, having the restrictions, etc...and the biggest fear of hair loss! OMG, I'm a fanatic about my hair but hopefully it does grow back as I'm reading?? I hope the diet isn't too hard to follow, so used to just eating whatever I want!! I guess those days will be over too..appreciate any feedback. Thanks!! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
GreenTealael 25,430 Posted July 25, 2019 I would suggest making dietary changes prior to surgery so its not a big shock to your system/lifestyle. Google Telogen Effluvium for more info on hairloss 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted July 25, 2019 I had about 7 months from the time I went to the initial seminar about WLS until surgery date and I used that time to start eating healthier, eating smaller portions, and practicing what it would be like post-surgery. You'll be able to eat anything you want, just not everything you want. Smaller portions, better choices, but plenty of variety. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
New&Improved 1,780 Posted July 25, 2019 Yeah do plenty of research. Read forums. YouTube. Learn better eating habits. Find out what brand Protein you can live off, get yourself prepared before surgery and maybe even lose a few lbs 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
Sandra Nuelken 419 Posted July 25, 2019 Once you decide that food is not your friend, but good health and the freedom to do what you want when you want, you will be ready to start down the road. After you make the commitment then you will need to eat less, eat slower, eat Protein first. I loaded MyFitnessPal and became real honest with what I was eating then as I got closer to the surgery date I am on the presurgery diet eating tons of protein and drinking a lot. My surgery is Tuesday and I'm ready body mind and spirit. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
