SLSH 24 Posted July 22, 2019 This article just came out in my local paper. 8 people in my state have contracted the "super bug" in Mexico and one has died. There are many good doctors out there. But do not use Dr. Almanza. Every patient used him who contracted the infection. I personally recently had surgery in Mexico but I'm fine and I've had a great experience. I researched and followed the facility for 4 years before I made the leap. Please do your research. ValerieInMexico 162 Posted July 22, 2019 Thanks for this post. I wonder what facility he works out of. I will check with several of my friends in the Medical profession about the state of affairs in Guadalajara, in the hospital I will be going to. There are strict protocols to how to prepare a surgical room and special training for people who clean surgical tools and devices. Obviously, someone is doing a terrible job of this. KatieMc 55 Posted July 22, 2019 I chose to have my surgery done at a bariatric clinic (Pompeii Surgical), not in a hospital, for exactly this reason - hospitals are for sick people, lots of germs and viruses and no doubt MRSA. There was also not even a whisper of the super bug about any of the surgeons that work there. I believe Dr Almanza performs his procedures at Grand View Hospital. Some of these surgeons do too many procedures in a day, and cleaning the OR between patients is rushed to the point where this sort of thing happens. So awful
ValerieInMexico 162 Posted July 23, 2019 That is a very good point. Hospitals have a lot of sick people in them. I am glad you had a good experience. 1 KatieMc reacted to this
