Fazzini Bee 76 Posted July 22, 2019 Good morning. I have been stalled for 2 weeks and before that I was stalled an additional 2 weeks- lost 3 lb then stalled again. I am discouraged and panicking. I am following Drs orders to a "T". Is there anything I should do? I am eating a traditional low fat, low carb diet and I STRUGGLE to get 600 Calories in daily. I do feel like clothes are fitting different through This period.
GreenTealael 25,439 Posted July 22, 2019 (edited) Run a search for stalls on this forum and you'll find two recurrent themes: 1. Almost everyone has experienced this & was very frustrated by it, so youre not alone 2. Almost everyone eventually realizes it's short-term if they stay the course and focus on the big picture Good Luck 💜 Edited July 22, 2019 by GreenTealael 3 Briswife15, alex76 and morganschmidlin reacted to this

I guess I worry because it is lasting so long. 1 1 Fazzini Bee and GreenTealael reacted to this
catwoman7 11,221 Posted July 22, 2019 some people lose weight in a stair step fashion (lose some, then stall, lose some, then stall - rinse & repeat). Others don't stall as frequently and have bigger drops between stalls. You may be one of the former. You don't have a lot of control over your pattern of weight loss - the only thing you have control over is whether or not you stick to your plan. So just stick to it - the weight *will* come off. I didn't have a ton of stalls (maybe 3 or 4?), but I was a slow loser from the get-go. I just stuck to my plan throughout the whole weight loss stage. It took awhile, but the weight eventually did come off - all of it! 1 1 Fazzini Bee and alex76 reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted July 22, 2019 I had a 10 week stall and thought I was in maintenance even though I thought I was doing everything right, getting in my Protein, exercising, getting in Water, 800 calories/day. Then I started on a "diet" with my husband, sort of like Atkins, and I'm eating MORE calories and the weight is finally dropping again. Maybe I was in starvation mood with too few calories? Bottom line is that stalls are frustrating but inevitable and you can't give up but have to keep following the program. 1 Fazzini Bee reacted to this
morganschmidlin 1 Posted July 22, 2019 I’m almost 4 weeks out and after transitioning to puréed foods iv hit a stall. Anyone have that issue? I’m following my diet and tracking everything. Is this common? I’m almost afraid to transition into soft foods if these past 2 weeks have been so discouraging? Any feedback is greatly appreciated :)
catwoman7 11,221 Posted July 22, 2019 you're the billionth person to hit that early stall. almost all of us get that. It's called the 3 week stall, but it can happen anywhere within the first 4-6 weeks of surgery. Just stick to your plan and it'll eventually break 1 Fazzini Bee reacted to this
Brent701 438 Posted July 22, 2019 I am 11 weeks out and last week I was stagnant only to get on the scale this morning and be down 6lbs from last Monday. I am now into staircase style weightloss after the initial rapid drop. 1 1 alex76 and Fazzini Bee reacted to this
SusieQ2019 567 Posted July 22, 2019 I am with @Brent701 I am also 11 weeks since surgery. I had a stall all last week and today I am down 4 lbs. Continue to do what you are doing and the weight will come come. From the looks of your profile you are doing good. 1 1 Fazzini Bee and Brent701 reacted to this
