momof3_angels 465 Posted February 8, 2020 I know this thread is older, but I’m waiting on approval from BCBS Fep. My information was submitted to the insurance company for approval on Tuesday. I’m waiting on a decision. I am wondering where on the insurance website you can see the information. I have the app and can also log in online but I can’t seem to figure out where I should be looking. There’s a message center and a Notification Center. Would it be in one of those two places once it’s approved? TIA for any info you may be able to give me!! FepBlue has a 3 month of nutrition counseling requirement plus all recommended consults. Had my first surgeon appt May 20, had surgery Sept 4. Once submitted for approval, it took less than a week for them to let my doc know I was approved, and I got a letter by 2 weeks. I never found my approval in the web page... only from a letter.Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

ChiefPWife 22 Posted September 14, 2020 I believe it took about a month to get my approval. I had the gastric sleeve.
chunkarella 59 Posted September 20, 2020 I had a quick turnaround w/insurance. It didn't take long to get approval for the hospital stay. In fact, my overall bill was SURPRISINGLY low. I had RNY, and w/corona, they were very flexible. I got a letter in the mail (along with all the stupid EOB.. ugh) for my approval. I never saw anything on the app or online. Bari_KS 499 Posted September 20, 2020 3 working days after surgeon's paperwork was submitted to FEP Blue. However no official call or confirmation letter. Nothing on their website/portal. I called insurance rep after 2 weeks of waiting and learned the good news.
ChrisgetsSleeveDec2020 4 Posted November 28, 2020 I checked after a week and was approved for out patient only. Not sure if that's something new or just because of covid. My surgeon has never had a patient go home the same day. That has me concerned because I wasn't expecting outpatient surgery.
