I decided to be brave, or stupid to represent us older women. I am wearing workout gear not a bikini. I’m never going to have the same body I had in my 20’s through 40’s but I feel really healthy now. It’s never too late.

I was born in 1960 (I’ll be 59 in 2 months) and this body has been through a lot lol.

Most 20's-40's would kill for that body. You look fantastic!

I swear I do wear clothes other than workout clothes haha but I’m in love with these leggings 😍 so I decided to share them on OOTD ! I’m also fully aware that in place of a butt I just have a long back 😂

Yes, for a bari-patient, you still have a very nice booty! Some of the rest of us just have layers of wrinkles where a butt used to be! 😭

lol, I think we just coined a new phrase: “bari-booty”.

Here is my today work outfit.
Pants are too big, but I’m waiting now for a bit of cooler weather before I get more.

Does anyone on this thread know how to sew/alter/tailor clothes?

No, and I have to have a lot of my clothes altered, because I'm short :(

I use my dry cleaner for the simple stuff, not too pricey, but it adds up. For anything that is more complicated than hemming I take it to an actual tailor, and that is expensive!

I can sew but my alteration skills are minimal.

Buying new clothes for one size difference or using a tailor: It adds up!

I'll try to find beginner DIY alteration tutorials and put them up for anyone interested.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
