Wow!! Lady in Red!! You look beautiful!

Ms. Arabesque - You inspired me to go RED! You look stunning, Lady in Red... Just a casual outfit (very loose after recent surgery) for the holidays and, appears to match our guest room at Hotel Greenbrier...Haha. Do you all like the new palazzo sweat style pants this year? I thought I'd give them a try - but hard to wear big clothes again after years of obesity. I think I prefer more fitted. Also, treated myself to these

red spectators...

Happy new year everyone.

You look stunning in red too @Sophie7713. I’m a bit the same about oversized clothing too since my weight loss. I love a wide keg pant as you know but I look for those that fit neatly around the waist and hips. But loose fit palazzo style casual pants are super comfy. I have a couple of pairs of the elastic waist wide leg pants in linen and viscose I wear when pooping out to the shops.

PS - Love those loafers with the cut out sides and contrasting colours. Fun.

Looking great! Very colorful and fun!
I also stay away from looser clothes because I feel restricted by all of the additional folds of fabric, movement and noise they create. But I’m trying to let go of the extreme form fitting clothes too because they are beginning to feel restrictive in a different way.

omg same.

in the immediate years after WLS i would always wear snugger fitting clothes because i felt they "highlighted" my skinniness more.

these days (and basically the past 3 or so years), outside of my workout gear and the odd fancy-night-out, i wear way more relaxed-fit clothing. its just waaaaay more comfy, lol.

as cher horowitz would say: I know it sounds mental, but sometimes I have more fun vegging out than when I go partying. Maybe because my party clothes are so binding. 😂😂

Went to a Christmas gathering last night & decided to finally wear this dress: a little red cheer. Bought it from The Outnet earlier this year (bargain Victorua Beckham - Whoo hoo!) but was saving it for a ‘special occasion’ then decided every occasion is special so I should just wear it. Anyone else save clothing for some nebulous future ‘special event’ & then don’t wear it as no event is special enough or am I the only crazy one?

I love the VB dress.

I always keep an eye out for ones in a good deal but haven't seen full length like that (I hate my ankle and calf area being on show). Dress is lovely and you look fab.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
