chaibaix 10 Posted July 17, 2019 I am currently on my third week (yes, the dreaded stall stage) however, my main concern is that I have a large appetite. When I eat, I do get full after about three or four bites of a meal, but I am able to down an entire pudding cup, and am able to drink easily. My question is this: what was your calorie count within your first month post op? And did anyone else experience having an active appetite. My sister also had vsg done, and she said she was nauseous all the time...I hardly ever feel nauseous at all. Please help. Project Me 24 Posted July 17, 2019 I didn’t have a calorie limit bc I wasn’t expected to eat/drink that much. They mainly want to make sure youre getting your 60-80g of Protein. So try not to have such a high calorie diet but Plan your meals and/or drinks around your protein. When I was at your stage I think I was 500 cals or less. Can’t be too sure. I had foamies ALOT and still kind of do if I over do it or eat too fast. Post op 2/21/19. Right now I’m only able to get in 700-900 calories. Not feeling nauseous is good. I was nauseated the first 1-4 days bc of the anesthesia, but havent been nauseous since. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted July 17, 2019 I don't think most surgeons give people calorie limits the first few weeks or months because we're eating so little that there's no way we can get too many calories as long as we're following our plans. That said - follow your plan. You're not going to feel much - if any - restriction for things like pudding because it goes right through you - so make sure you're measuring it to make sure you're not eating too much of it. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this

I just feel normal most of the time, and I get to a point where I second guess whether or not I'm doing this properly or not. I suppose I'm just stressing myself out...especially when dealing with this stall Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
Mickeygmg 25 Posted July 18, 2019 I had to work to get 70protien. I mostly focused on that. Looking back in my records my calories ranged from 400 to 550. I too was able to eat a quarter cup of mushy food easily. And liquids weren't a problem. My first 2 weeks I felt hungry, alot. But then it went away. Havent felt hungry since. My surgery was June 5th.
