Hi guys, I had my surgery on june 24, I have lost 39.6 lbs within 3 weeks, I'm just wondering, is this too much weight to lose within the first 3 weeks?

I feel great and I don't feel dizzy at all, should I change anything?

No. Because you are heavier going into surgery, it's perfectly normal to expect to lose larger sums right up front. It will level out. Just make sure to stay hydrated girl and follow your docs plan of care! Get that Protein in and congrats on your losses to date!!! Two-derville here you come!

Congratulations!!!! You're doing great!!!! Your weight was high, so a quick drop at first is not surprising. Enjoy it!!

Don't worry...it will slow down at some later time: those dreaded stalls. So enjoy it. Good for you!!

It's okay for now, but don't expect it to continue that large of a weight loss every week ongoing for months. Congrats! Good luck on your recovery and weight loss

actually, that is kind of a lot given your starting BMI. Congrats! But like the above poster said, it's going to really slow down after the first month, so just know to expect that..

I was over 50 BMI when I first had surgery. I lost 43 pounds the first month. 4.5 months later I'm at 66 pounds. My weight loss has slowed to a snail's pace. I think it eventually the weight slows down and I had a 3 week stall after the first month. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
